Live programs

This is live, directly with me — with real support.

No pre-recorded lessons. You ask, I answer, in real time — every week.

In 12 weeks you learn what the real professionals in this industry know: you understand WHY things happen, and you can solve the problem yourself when it shows up.

Applications for Group 1 are closed. The next group goes into the schedule the moment it has a date — the waitlist is below.

What BASIC AUDIO LITERACY teaches

For musicians and for people who want to become audio engineers. This program connects audio engineering, musicianship, electronics, psychoacoustics, and the psychology of working with people into one competent, practical program that demystifies the lies people have been told and teaches what actually successful people know.

How it works

We start from problems and situations that actually happen — at the gig, in a session, at home — and then I explain why they happen and what's really going on. Theory comes only when you need it, and never before.

Across twelve weeks: your signal chain, gain staging, what makes distortion musical, EQ and filters, connecting gear without losing sound, hunting down noise and hum, digital audio, room acoustics, and how your own hearing fools you.

Why you don't know this already

It isn't because it's hard. It's because nobody ever told you it's simple.

The whole industry runs on you believing it's complicated. There's always a piece of gear you haven't bought, a plugin you haven't tried, a cable that's "better". If you knew how things actually work, you'd stop buying.

And what you're missing isn't talent and it isn't gear. The best people in this trade know it, and they're not hiding it — it has just never been put in one place and explained plainly. That's the only difference between you and the one person in every crew who gets called when something goes wrong. He isn't smarter than you. He just knows where to look.

What you'll be able to do afterward

You find a fault in a minute instead of half an hour — and you become the one who gets called, not the one waiting for someone to show up.

Your recordings start to sound professional.

You sound good everywhere — at rehearsal, on stage, in a car, in someone else's headphones.

You stop buying gear you don't need. That's the fastest money you'll ever save.

You can explain to someone else what's wrong with their sound. That's the moment people start calling you — and paying you.

You are what people are supposed to feel and hear. I teach you how to get that across — and that's the step that finally makes you a better musician. None of this is hard. Nobody has just sat down and explained it to you.

The format

  • Live online, once a week, 90 minutes
  • Open Q&A after class
  • Homework every week — you never hand it in
  • Community between calls
  • The class recording stays yours

No prior knowledge required.

You'll need your instrument, headphones, and an audio interface with any basic DAW — by week three at the latest. If you don't have an interface yet, apply anyway — I'll tell you the cheapest one that's actually worth buying.

Recommended but optional: pedals, amps, processors — whatever gear you already own, we work with it.

Everything is online, live, in a group.

What this isn't

  • This isn't an audio production course — that would teach you mixing "tricks," hand you magic frequencies and rules to follow blindly, and box you in with scars that last the rest of your career. This is better.
  • This isn't a playing school — we don't teach you to play. We learn what it means to play, to perform, to produce.
  • This isn't a YouTube tutorial — because I'm not a YouTuber making you a shiny video, chasing trends and collecting views. I actually work with this stuff, every way there is.
  • This isn't electronics — but you'll learn how things work, explained in simple terms, and that understanding helps you understand everything else.
  • This isn't a pre-recorded course. We talk live — you get extra material — you ask questions, and we have fun.

Don't apply if: you don't have a couple of hours a week; you're looking for someone to mix for you instead of teaching you.

FAQ

Why isn't the price on the site?

Because it arrives by email the moment you apply — together with every other detail. You get the price in the same message that confirms your application arrived, and I read applications only from people who've read what the program is and isn't.

How do I pay?

Outside Serbia — by card. Inside Serbia — bank transfer in dinars, at the NBS selling rate on the day of payment. In full, or in three monthly installments. The exact amount, the details and the deadline come in the email after you apply.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes, three. First before the start, the rest through the program.

What if I don't have an interface / I live in an apartment?

Apply anyway. I'll tell you the cheapest interface that's actually worth buying, and you only need it by week three. Everything is online — you don't need a space that's allowed to be loud.

What DAW do I need?

Any basic one. Reaper, Ableton, Cubase, FL Studio — doesn't matter, the principles are the same.

What if I miss a call?

Call recordings stay yours.

I play something other than guitar (keys, synth, electronic drums, anything through a DI) — is this useful for me?

Yes — the mechanisms I teach aren't tied to one instrument. The reference sound is yours, whatever instrument you bring.

I play drums — is this any use to me?

Miking acoustic drums isn't a topic in this program. But everything else is for you too — signal, gain, noise, monitoring, the room, your hearing. A drummer who knows this is the most useful person at every rehearsal.

What if it doesn't work out for me?

If within the first two weeks you see this isn't for you, you get back everything you've paid — no questions, no convincing. After week two there are no refunds: the group is small, and your seat was closed to someone else.
