ReactIR

The world's first plugin that's actually alive.

ReactIR brings back the life of analog gear. Temporal Dynamics™ makes your sound react to how you play, embraces the imperfections of real gear, and adds layers of depth and sophistication to your tone.

The full plugin for 14 days. Nothing held back.

Temporal Dynamics

Move your pointer over the panel to play it. Switch it off and it goes still.

Temporal Dynamics™

Your IR is a photograph. ReactIR brings it to life.

Plug a guitar into a great amp and something happens that no recording fully holds. The transformer works hard under every note. The speaker pushes back against the amp. And deep inside the circuit, the electronics are never quite the same from one moment to the next. That is the feel, the depth and the life of real gear.

Now record through a line out, a load box or a resistive IR, or reach for a digital processor. What comes back is a photograph of that amp: accurate, detailed and perfectly still. It measures well, and it still does not feel like playing a real rig.

ReactIR was built to put the life back.

At its heart is Temporal Dynamics™, modelled on the way analog electronics change and move in moments. It runs underneath everything ReactIR does, so your tone moves the way hardware moves. It reacts to your playing, it breathes, and no two takes are ever absolutely identical.

Iron and Reactance

Recreated from sophisticated measurements of real transformers and real speakers, down to the imperfections that give them their character.

Iron

Iron brings back the output transformer. It is not an EQ and it is not a saturator. It is everything combined: precise, gentle EQ curves working together with sophisticated transient shaping and saturation, and the whole stage responds in real time to what you play, changing with every note, just like the real thing. Low notes compress and bloom while the top of the chord sails past.

Reactance

Reactance brings back the speaker pushing against the amp, the conversation an impulse response can only freeze. It adds what a lot of setups are missing, and where nothing is missing, it gives you extra guitar-friendly presence and depth to take your sound further.

And a serious IR loader

It started out as the solution to a problem, and it became a creative tool for any situation. ReactIR lifts almost every guitar sound you put through it, even a fully miked vintage amp.

Use it as your IR loader. Put it after your digital guitar processor or your amp plugins. Use it as a post-production stage on any guitar track.

  • Several IRs at once, each with its own level, trim, delay, polarity and pan. Align all finds the delay at which they line up.
  • Auto-level: every IR is measured between 200 Hz and 5 kHz as it loads and brought to the same level there, so swapping IRs changes the sound, not the volume.
  • A library: scan your folders, tag, search and favourite IRs, and an IR Doctor that flags technical problems in the files themselves.
  • A/B snapshots of the whole setup, loudness-matched, so the louder one does not win by default.
  • Presets save everything. Voicings save the amp alone, so you can carry Iron and Reactance across different cabinets.
  • Export the whole blend to one IR file you can load anywhere.
  • A response plot calculated from your IRs and your settings, updating the moment you move a control.
  • Detail and Stage: Iron at twice your session rate with a small reported delay, or at session rate with no delay for tracking and live use.
  • Dark and light skins.

Windows may show a SmartScreen warning because the installer is new and not yet code-signed. Click More info, then Run anyway. If you want to verify what you downloaded, compare its SHA-256 with the checksum file.

The macOS installer is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarised, so it opens without a warning.

The details

Requirements

  • Windows: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. VST3 and CLAP.
  • macOS: macOS 12 or later, Apple silicon and Intel in one installer. VST3, AU and CLAP.
  • Any host that loads one of those formats. No AAX yet, so not Pro Tools.

Licence

One key, up to five of your own machines, and it never expires. Every future update of ReactIR accepts the same key.

The trial is the same installer with a 14-day key for one machine. When it ends, ReactIR passes the signal through dry until you enter a key.

ReactIR Lite needs no key and makes no network connections.

Small print

Activating ReactIR sends your host application's name and a hardware identifier to Lemon Squeezy to validate your key. Nothing else leaves your computer. Use is governed by the End User Licence Agreement.
