Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 21, 2026
1. Scope
This policy covers cookies and similar browser-storage technologies (localStorage, sessionStorage) used by Slightly Technical LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States, on this website. Questions: privacy@slightlytechnical.rs.
2. The short version
This site sets no marketing cookies and no tracking pixels. By default it stores exactly one thing: your cookie-banner choice. Analytics cookies exist only if you say yes — and you can take that back below, in one click.
3. What we actually store
Strictly necessary
- st-consent (localStorage) — remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so the banner doesn't ask on every visit. Set when you make a choice; stays until you clear your browser storage.
Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (opt-in only)
If you press "Allow analytics" in the banner — and only then — Google Analytics loads and sets these cookies. Declining, or ignoring the banner, means the script never loads and none of them exist:
- _ga — tells returning browsers apart with a random identifier. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_* (one per measurement stream) — keeps session state, such as which visit a page view belongs to. Expires after 2 years.
We run Google Analytics with advertising features disabled and IP anonymisation on. Google's own use of this data is described in Google's cookie documentation.
Third-party content you activate
- Embedded YouTube videos use click-to-load facades: nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. Once you do, YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) may set its own cookies under its own policy.
- Donation buttons link out to Stripe and PayPal, which operate their own sites and cookies.
4. Managing your choice
Withdrawing consent is one click — it clears your stored choice, deletes any analytics cookies, and shows the banner again:
- Alternatively, clear this site's data in your browser settings — the effect is the same.
- Google also offers a browser add-on that blocks Google Analytics on every site: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Your browser settings can block storage entirely; the site works fine without it.
5. Legal basis
Strictly necessary storage runs on legitimate interest; analytics run on your consent, collected before anything loads. See also the Privacy Policy.
